The domain covered is the emergency preparedness and response of the health services to extra-ordinary public health challenges (EOPHC).

The authors preparing the training material are domain experts of the IMPRESS consortium, with the input or in association with one or more members of the SAG end-users expert group.

This theoretical part will provide all trainees with a general description of the IMPRESS solution and the relative ICT platform including: aim, objectives, general characteristics, functions, relationship with existing business processes and how these are affected / improved through the use of the project solution.

This theoretical part will provide individual trainees with a basic description of the main IMPRESS functional modules (hardware and software). Therefore in this part the trainees will be informed which are the different modules and components of IMPRESS and what they do as well as their objective and purpose of use in context of the proposed solution.

This practical part provides trainees with instructions on how to use the IMPRESS system and in particular the IMPRESS software modules INCIMAG, WARSYS and INCIMOB for the implementation of their business processes. This part focuses on the actual use of IMPRESS as a software artifact.

This theoretical part is independent of the core training parts of the educational framework. It aims to provide high-level decision-makers with knowledge regarding how the IMPRESS platform can be adopted and strategically deployed by an organization.

The aim of this part of the course is to provide trainees with a combined simulation / hand-on experience on the basic functionality of the IMPRESS platform. This aim is achieved through a blended-learning educational approach. In particular, trainees are provided with physical access to the IMPRESS system which runs an incident scenario. The IMPRESS system is using patient data, relevant to the scenario considered. The trainees participate in the implementation of the scenario by controlling their physical IMPRESS devices.

*Trainees should have completed Parts 1-3 of this training module before the implementation of the Simulation Exercises.
